Clove is a small, reddish­brown flower bud of the tropical evergreen tree Syzygium aromaticum of the Myrtaceae family. Cloves are native to the Maluku in Indonesia and used as a spice in cuisines all over the world.

Cloves are used to flavouring delicacies made of fish, meat and poultry. They are used to season pickles and are used in classic sauces and bakery products. Cloves has anti microbial and anastheic properties in them. The eugenol oil in the cloves is used a local anesthetic for toothaches. Thus since ages cloves have been used as mouth and breath fresheners and to treat dental treatments. Besides cloves are helpful in the treatment of diseases like asthma and bronchitis, sprains, muscle aches, rheumatism and arthritis
